I grew up in eastern NC and attended East Carolina University where I graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education. This is my sixth year at James W. Smith and I enjoy working with such wonderful people. I taught First Grade for three years and I have been in Kindergarten for two years. Having taught first grade, I am familiar with the curriculum and expectations. Therefore, I strive to prepare every Kindergartner for what he/she will need to move forward and continue being successful in school.
I have always loved working with children and always knew what I wanted to do. I believe that every child is capable of learning, but children learn in many different ways. In our classroom, I want students to feel free to express themselves and respect each others' ideas.
